Jeffrey and Dominique’s love story is an enchanting tale of destiny that unfolded in the summer of 2022, shortly after the Fourth of July. Jeffrey and Dominique set out for a leisurely stroll along the Richmond Riverfront Canal Walk with their beloved furry companion on that momentous day. As they each ventured towards the Great Shiplock Park area on the canal walk, the sun cast a golden glow over the surroundings, painting the scene with a mesmerizing warmth. Little did they know that their paths would converge in a serendipitous encounter forever changing their lives. Unbeknownst to them, this seemingly ordinary meeting would spark something extraordinary and magical, setting the stage for a remarkable love story.


..... Imagine your 1st date being a day of dates
Jeffrey and Dominique’s first date was a day full of unique experiences that entertained and amused them. They opted for a day full of mini-dates in the surrounding Richmond area. They started with a unique experience at Transitions Float RVA, where they tried float therapy in a sensory deprivation tank. After that, they enjoyed a delightful brunch with mimosas at a local diner. They indulged in a couples massage at the Awaken. But the best part of their day was yet to come. They decided to visit Goodwill and set a $20 spending limit to pick out the tackiest outfits for each other. Once fully decked out, they went for a wine tasting and had a private picnic on the lawn at James River Cellars Winery. It was an epic day filled with laughter, fun and bonding. And it was a testament to their adventurous spirits.


.....So they say, You know when you know!
Just shy of two months into their relationship, Jeffrey mustered the courage to be the first to say those three little words, ‘I love you.’ It was a beautiful evening; they were sitting by the river, and the words spilled out. Dominique immediately reciprocated his feelings in a moment filled with love and mutual respect, setting a beautiful example of a healthy and loving relationship.


........ Will you marry me?
On June 23rd 2023; Jeffrey and Dominique were scheduled to meet a photographer, Whitney Phillips, for a couple’s portrait session. Their attire for the session was casual and relaxed, with comfortable jeans, classic white t-shirts and white tennis shoes. The couple said, “the session captured the vibrant colors of their lives.” “We both had struggled for years with our identity but our mutual love for one another has given us the courage to embrace who we are.” The session concluded with a colorful cloud of smoke billowing out from their umbrella. The plan was to start the photoshoot at the downtown Richmond Train Station, then stroll through the Shockoe Bottom area and along the James River. Little did Dominique know, this session would turn into a surprise proposal along the Canal Walk, adding an unexpected twist to their love story. As they arrived at the Canal Walk murals, Jeffrey kneeled and asked Dominique to spend forever with him. Dominique quickly responded, “Yes.” It was a moment filled with love and joy that will be cherished forever. The day ended with a congratulatory event with their closest friends, making it a truly memorable occasion.

Adventurers at Heart: Whether it’s exploring nature, traveling to new places, or discovering unique foods, we both share a love for adventure and trying new things.
How We Met: We met on July 5, 2022, during a late-night stroll at the park while walking our dogs. Who knew a walk in the park would lead us to our forever person? 🐾❤️
